The purpose of this Chemical Hygiene Plan is to protect faculty, staff, teaching assistants and student workers from exposures to chemicals in laboratories. This plan has been developed to comply with the Federal Occupational Exposures to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories Standard (29 CFR 1910.1450) and the Michigan Hazardous Work in Laboratories Standard. This plan also includes Eastern Michigan University's general laboratory safety rules and is designed to provide the minimum requirements for laboratory safety.
