Quality in PHC Management Information Systems

Quality health information is essential for effective health planning, management and policy
development at all levels of health care systems and in all contexts. Furthermore, quality
assessment of health services is unattainable if the information used is of good quality.
Paradoxically, establishment of effective health management information systems is a recent
development in Nigeria.
This paper examines the issue of primary health care management information systems;
approaches to the design, implementation of an effective system; and measures of ensuring
quality of information generated.
