Resources are available in both the public and private sectors and can include volunteers, donations of in-kind support and supplies, technical assistance, training, peer support and access to colleagues, access to information, and grant support.
Generally, public resources refer to government support at the local, state or federal level. Public resources for sex offender programming include technical assistance, training and funds for program development and expansion. Federal support in this area, usually dispensed through Department of Justice agencies, is more extensive than state or local support.
