The 2008 Manual of Regulations for Non-Bank Financial Institutions (MORNBFI) is an updated compilation of regulations and policies issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) for financial institutions under its supervision. Available in hard and soft copies, it is a convenient reference and guide for said financial institutions in the conduct of their operations. The updated MORNBFI incorporates regulatory policies issued to align banking practices on risk management, good corporate governance, and capital adequacy, accounting
and reporting with international standards. It also includes rules implementing legislative
reform measures, the more significant of which are the General Banking Law of 2000, the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001 and the Special Purpose Vehicle Act of 2002.
In providing easy access to this information, the updated MORNBFI seeks to facilitate compliance with the supervisory and regulatory requirements of BSP that will contribute to the enhancement of its partnership with financial institutions under its supervision, and ultimately to the strengthening of the Philippine Banking System and the economy.
